This book chronicles the lives of a brother-sister pair as they navigate two worlds, and two sides of magic, in a quest neither one is fully prepared to understand.The plot runs through quickly, at the very beginning, setting the stage for what becomes a YA introduction to swords-and-sorcery (not a bad thing; it's my go-to genre).
This is a book for a younger demographic, something that would be suited in a grammar school or junior high classroom. The humor is clean and light-hearted. The characters are just pure enough to weather the trials thrown at them, and the plot has an Arthurian twist suitable for young readers, or parents who may be concerned by adult-themes in like-novels.
Overall, it was a quick, enjoyable read, and I greatly look forward to its continuation.
